I'm off to a great start aren't I?
Anyway, I just felt like dropping by to quickly say "I'M GETTING NEW GLASSES.. FINALLY"
No seriously, I've been wearing skinny frames since I first got glasses. To finally be able to purchase thicker, darker frames makes me really happy. Thank you to me parents for the graduation present ^^" Sadly though, they cost me $680. The frames alone were $480 @__@ My specs are much heavier than most people so they cost $200. My gosh, when the lady calculated the amount, I was about to faint. I had one of those Asian moments where I felt the nerves on the back of my neck about to collapse.
(keep in mind this was an Asian optometrist - limited selection applies)
Trying on frames is fun I have to say. Finding the one that actually fits, isn't. When I told my brother which one I bought, we ended up having another argument about "Brands". SERIOUSLY, I don't care if my glasses are brand named or not. Does it matter? As long as I can see through them and they fit comfortably, that's fine with me.
When he asked, I said they were "Fendi". And he started elaborating how it's not a recognised brand and all that jazz.
He's like: "Why didn't you get Versace or D&G or LV or Gucci?"
Hello~! You weren't there to see the other glasses. The Gucci ones had friken floral patterns going down the sides - looked like it was painted on..
Yah~ so that argument went on for a while. My final retaliation was that "they fit perfectly".
I can pick up my glasses next Tuesday - can't wait. I couldn't find an image that was similar to the one I bought. *sigh~
Ah, just for my mother's fans out there *cough stephie shannon cough* here's a little phrase she said to me while we were looking around
"Don't worry Kana, when we go to Vietnam, we'll get 3 or 4 more frames. I have my connections - quality, brands and all"
O___O Did my mother say she has "connections"?! That's not right. Considering this is a woman who used to JIG back in the days, I'm scared to meet my mother's "connections". It sounds gangster, but it isn't.. I'm so confused.. But yeah, I can just get frames and then put specs into them *thumbs up*
As excited as I am, my overseas shopping list keeps getting longer.. Thank god it's a cheap country =] The Viets did something right for once..
So yeah, now I've developed a minor obsession for glasses ==' If I didn't actually need glasses, I would probably end up collecting them.. Sad? Yes. So many designs.. So little money.. XD

OH~ red, must get red. They would make me look terribly Asian though - just like the chinki Caroline XP
So, I should get back to studying, it's nearly 11.30am so I have a whole day ahead of me.
