neww job =]

On Monday I went to another job interview at pinnacle hospitality and travel people at the rocks next to sharing la hotel. This is an agency that provides employers (clients in the hospitality industry) with the right person for the job from their database of selected highly trained and experienced hospitality and travel employees. A friend from college work for them and said the pay is really good so he intro me to the them. I was extremely nervous when I was inside. They photocopy all my documents passport , bank statement, resume . This lady then took me to this room with about 5 candidates there we were given forms to fill out and then we had to do 3 tests on a la carte dining, basic bar skills, banquet. She then gave us a forms on superannuation and tax file declaration , at this point I was scared because I never fill in anything like this but she was there to assit with all the q’s. After that she took me to a room and I had to do a series of practical tests for eg carrying 3 plates , clearing a 5 plates and carrying a tray of glasses. Im pretty sure I did fine in these practical tests because ive had been practicing at college. She also asked me a series of q’s like “what do you think your supervisor and team member will say about you” “why do you want to work in hospitality industry “ and “what do you think is one of the qualities that a food and beverage attendant need to possess in order to be successful in this industry” I answer all the q’s as best as I could and she just nods and took some notes . she did the same process for the other candidates


An hour later…. She called me in the room and told me she accepted me !!!!!!! And I filled all the requirements !!!!!!!!!!
Wooohooo and so myself and other 4 candidates had to stay back so she went through the whole induction . We then got given name badges and uniform .

Must say this is one of the tough interview I ever been to I got tested on everything im happy that my college taught me all the skills

After she gave us jobs.. Im working on

21/ 9 Friday at sofitel wentworth hotel from 11-8pm $20ph food and beverage attendant at a banquet
22/9 Saturday at ANZ stadium Olympic park from 6.30pm-10.30 $25ph bar attendant

Im extremely happy with the pay gosh I couldn’t believe it myself but its TRUE !!!
and the good thing is I have a friend work with me at the same places and ill get a lift with him to these venues . its exciting because I get to go to different hotels and events to help out and get great pay . It really makes studying a lot easier for me because im working in the industry and can use all the theory in practice now and when I get a degree I will have enough experience to apply anywhere in the country of overseas.

So yes no more cash in hand jobs for me .. getting ready to pay tax soon and now I have a super LOL woah make me sound like a responsible adult . At least my career looks a lot brighter now compare to few mths ago when I was unemployed T_____T
