After reading Shelley's train moments (and by the way, oww~ O_O) I have one to share as well. This happened last Thursday when I was on my way home from Uni.
On Thursdays, I have afternoon classes until 7pm. When I catch the train home, I usually change lines at Redfern because there's less chaos, less people (in regards to traffic) and less platforms to consider.
Have you ever had those moments when you think you'll do something different for a change, and then find that something goes wrong? I hate that.
Well, I changed at Central because I wanted to try something different, and Cityrail confuses the shit out of me. Like Shelley said, the Bankstown Line is on platform 22, and that's how we see it. I was waiting there when I realised that the boards kept skipping and changing and switching. Oh hell no. Everyone moved onto the train on platform 23 because that's what the boards said. The announcements started saying that the train traveling to Bankstown was on platform 22. So I thought: 'You know what? I'm just going to stand in the middle of the two platforms until Cityrail makes up its damn mind. I swear I should've just gone to Redfern ==''
The train was on its original position on platform 22, and I managed to get back to Bankstown. Whoop-dee-friken-doo.
Yeah, nothing like Shelley's experience, but Cityrail can kiss my non-existent Asian ass.
While I'm still on the topic of trains and travel, how about a little insight into what Stephanie and I go through when we catch the North Shore line at peak hour.
This morning, at Redfern, Stephanie and I had a "should we/shouldn't we" moment when we were deciding whether to get on a packed train. I put a foot into the train and looked down at the space left.
Stephanie: "Do you just want to catch the next train?"
Kana: "Yeah alright. We're not that skinny anyway."
(lol!) What a sad realisation we came to. And there are probably people on that carriage who watched us fail miserably (shakes fist)
We like making fun of the "North Shore" and we'll probably go to hell for it.
So, a little update on uni
- Distinction minus for my 'time sense' essay. Not bad, not bad. Damn that 1.5 line spacing ><'
- I'm going to fail Economics (there, I've finally told everyone :)
- I have to do a Time Budget report where I examine my leisure patterns and decision making yadi-yadi-yada. 6500 words of it. (aish~) I have seriously got to check the details about that.
So, I suppose I could contribute to the whole "shout out" thing going.
Stephanie: I'm sorry I don't speak or understand 'muffmang' (muffin and mango talk)
Trang: How's WB? Good luck with your exams! And oh dear god Lee Min Ho is HOT~ Don't worry, no intentions to claim. Just very good eye candy ;)
Shannon: You're teaching Stephanie too much. Or Stephanie is learning too much. Either way, you're a direct influence. You think it's cool but I find it frightening. 3 days a week of muffmang talk. What does it all mean? O_o (rhetorical! VERY rhetorical)
Shelley: 9.07am train it is :) You must resist the temptation to shop..
Sarrah: How have you been? Long time no talk/see. Don't expect me on MSN anytime soon though XD
Tien: Yo, sup? How's solitaire? I'm not placing any bets. I don't think you need an ulterior motive to win. It'll just be scary.
Anil: You got credit - two words: good luck ^^ Oh and I like your shoes :p
I'll hopefully see you all once my assignments and mid-semester exams are over. How's that? Good luck with your studies. I hope you overcome the difficulties. Yes Shannon, that includes Geography and climate change.
